Ring in 2020 in the Twin Cities this year! Burnsville is the perfect place to be as 2019 draws to a close and 2020 begins. Check out these 5 ways you can celebrate the new year in the Twin Cities area.

New Year’s Eve at Buck Hill

Welcome in 2020 at Buck Hill with live music, beverages, and more at the ever-popular Buck Hill New Year’s Eve Celebration! Fireworks will light the night sky at midnight, but you can enjoy the fun until 1 AM. Plus, skiing, snowboarding, and tubing will be available until 11:30 pm! Click here for more information on the upcoming event.

Winter Lights and NYE Party

Hosted by the University of Minnesota’s Landscape Arboretum, the Winter Lights and NYE Party is the perfect way to begin the new year. Enjoy the magnificently decorated Great Hall, including the iconic 25-foot tall live Poinsettia tree, live music from 7-10 pm, a photo booth and more! Plus, catch the ball drop celebration at a time that works best for you – 8 pm, 9 pm or 10 pm. Tickets are required and can be purchased here.

All Night Skate at Skateville

Make the most of your last day of the year by participating in the all-night skate at Stateville. The event begins at 7 pm on New Year’s Eve and runs until 7 am on New Year’s Day! This party is great for all ages and you can participate for as little or as long as you would like. If you choose to skate past 10 pm, you’ll get to take advantage of hot dogs, games, and, naturally, a midnight countdown. Click here to learn more about how you can ring in the new year on skates.

Church Basement Ladies at the Ames Center

Take a step back in time and enjoy a fun and unique way to welcome in 2020 by seeing The Church Basement Ladies in Hark! The Basement Ladies Sing at the Ames Center on New Year’s Eve. It depicts a group of women gathering around to create a special holiday greeting for men fighting overseas in December 1960. You don’t want to miss out on this memorable experience. Get your tickets today!

New Year’s Eve Party at Lebanon Hills Park

Celebrate all things winter with candlelight ice skating, hiking, and snowshoeing, along with plenty of hot cocoa to go around at the New Year’s Eve Party at Lebanon Hills Park. Bundle up, grab a bite to eat from one of the many food trucks, and make a s’more all while you get ready for the ball to drop at 7:59 pm. This New Year’s Eve celebration will certainly be one to remember for you and the entire family. Admission is $8 per person, children 3 and under are free. Get your tickets.

All of these are great ways for you and your loved ones to ring in the new year together. Don’t forget to tag your New Year’s Eve celebration photos with #MyBurnsville for the chance to be featured on our social channels. Happy New Year from Experience Burnsville!
