    Things to Do

Mall of America®

Rain or shine, no visit to Burnsville is complete without a trip to the Mall of America®! You can spend all day (and then some) shopping and enjoying the attractions. If you spent only 10 minutes in every store, it would take you over 86 hours! That doesn’t even include the amount of time you could spend riding an indoor roller-coaster at the Nickelodeon Universe Theme Park, marveling at underwater creatures in the Sea Life Minnesota Aquarium, or enjoying Moose Mountain Adventure Golf! You don’t have to fill your shopping bags to enjoy the Mall of America® because there is so much to do and see all in one place!

Minnesota Zoo

If you are avoiding the outdoors, that does not mean you should avoid the Minnesota Zoo! There are plenty of indoor attractions such as African penguins, sharks, tropical fish, and sea dragons! You can also catch a show in the amphitheater where they feature live seasonal bird shows. Last but not least, you can enjoy a show at the IMAX Theater. Witness everything from wildlife-themed movies to blockbuster hits. This is a great way to beat the heat (or cold) in Burnsville, Minnesota.

Indoor Recreation

When we think of spending time indoors, we rarely think of high energy activities. That is not the case in Burnsville, as there are plenty of adventurous things to do indoors! For example, ProKART Indoor Racing offers 40 mph karts all year round. This activity is not ideal for children as it is intended to provide a space for professional karting experiences. You don’t have to be a pro to hit the tracks, however, you must be at least 13 years of age. If 40 mph is too fast for you, try a different set of wheels at Skateville. Here you will find the quintessential roller rink experience with hardwood floors and disco balls. This spot’s claim to fame is hosting country singer Kacey Musgraves’ birthday party in which Katy Perry was a guest! Finally, take a swing at Grand Slam. Indoor batting cages are not the only thing you will find at this indoor facility. You can also enjoy laser tag, x-treme trampolines, mini-golf, a video arcade, and Krazy Kars (which are like bumper cars, but cooler). As you can see, there are plenty of ways to burn energy indoors in Burnsville!

Mystic Lake Casino

For some adult fun, experience 150,000 square feet of gaming area at the Mystic Lake Casino. Hit the slots, test your luck at blackjack, or enjoy some bingo! After you are done with the thrills of gambling, relax and unwind at the spas. Indulge in a massage, facial, or other relaxing therapies. Round out the night with the bars and dining, or maybe catch a show which may feature a comedian or your favorite musician!

Ames Center

This local arts hub is a great place to see a show or visit the free art gallery. Home to a large proscenium stage, as well as an intimate black box theatre – you may be able to catch a play, big band concert, or ballet while visiting the Ames Center! Enjoy the beautiful scenery from the lobby which boasts a gorgeous view of the Minneapolis skyline.

All of these experiences are worth having even if the weather is ideal! Just be sure to capture your adventures and share them with us on FacebookTwitter, and Instagram!
