Johnnie Brown Paying Homage to The O’Jays

September 17, 2021 - 8:00 pm - 10:30 pm

Johnnie Brown is an accomplished vocalist who has been singing all of his life. As the son of a preacher, Johnnie first started singing in his fathers church. Being encouraged by family and friends to take his singing more seriously, He traded in his Karaoke machine, formed a band and has since made a reputable name for himself performing in venues throughout St. Paul and Minneapolis MN. Using his raspy baritone voice, channeling the smooth singing style of Gerald LeVert with hit songs like “I love music”  “Love train”  “Use ta be my girl” and many more, Johnnie Brown delivers the O’Jays songs with soul like none other.

Johnnie Brown is one of the most requested re-occurring performers with sold out, encore performances at the Ordway, Dakota, Crooner’s Supper Club, of Minnesota just to name a few.

Johnnie Brown attributes his love for music to the great style of the Philadelphia Sound and to that which personifies musical legends of his time and brings to the stage an electrifying tribute performance.

The traveling band consists of up to twelve members, a four piece rhythm section, three piece horn section, percussionist and three backing vocalists; made up by some of the best musicians and performers of the Midwest.

Johnnie believes in himself and his ability as a performer to give you the music of the O’Jays a face, sound, personality with a vocal familiarity that resonates to an audience what the O’Jays music should look and feel like.
