Without a doubt, the first half of this year has been stressful. Luckily, this summer, Buck Hill is giving you the opportunity to gain skills and confidence on your mountain bike. Mountain Bike Clinics at Buck Hill will begin starting in July.  These clinics will allow riders to learn and practice mountain bike skills. Don’t worry, the clinic is fully staffed with experienced instructors who will share their knowledge in a safe, controlled environment.

If you’re looking to either pick up a new hobby or enhance your biking skills – Buck Hill’s Mountain Bike Clinics cater to any experience level. Participating in these clinics will teach you the skills to be comfortable enough to hit the many trails to bike located in and near Burnsville. These clinics can be fun for the whole family — Youth, Men’s and Women’s clinics are available.  

No Bike? No Problem! Buck Hills offers bike rentals (at a limited availability) or you can buy your own! Burnsville and the surrounding areas have plenty of places to purchase your very own mountain bike. Erik’s Bike Shop, Blackbird Bikes, and Otso Cycles are your Burnsville area bike shops. Want to pick up some new threads for the clinics? Visit one of the many Burnsville area shops and malls  like the Burnsville Center to find the perfect mountain bike apparel.

What Do I Bring?

  • Your Mountain Bike (rentals are available)
  • CPSC Certified Helmet
  • WATER – either a hydration pack or bottle that fits on your bike
  • Snacks
  • Gloves & Bike Shorts (recommended not required)
  • Bike Multi-tool & Spare tube

What Will I Learn?

  • Bike Body Separation
  • Front & Rear Wheel Lifts
  • Speed Control (braking/shifting)
  • Cornering Flat & Bermed Corners
  • Basic Bike Maintenance

Clinics

Women’s Mountain Bike Clinic

The Women’s Mountain Bike Clinic will take place over 3 sessions — 7/22, 7/29, and 8/5 from 6pm to 8pm. You can register here for all 3 dates

Men’s Mountain Bike Clinic

The Men’s Mountain Bike Clinic will take place over 3 sessions – 7/20, 7/27 and 8/3 from 6pm to 8pm. You can register here for all 3 dates.

Advanced Youth Mountain Bike Clinic

The Advanced Youth clinics are for kids aged 10 through 15 who will be participating in NICA or just want to enhance their skills. The clinics primarily focus on time on the trails and riding hours. Personal bikes must be inspected prior to clinic. There will be two 3-day clinics from 9am until noon. Register here for the August 10th through 13th clinic or register here for the August 17th through 20th clinic.
