The Minnesota Valley Transit Authority (MVTA) is the public transit provider for the South Metro, serving Apple Valley, Burnsville, Eagan, Rosemount, Savage, Prior Lake, and Shakopee.

MVTA runs local and express routes (including reserve-commute and suburb to suburb options), plus MVTA Connect, an on-demand, app-based micro transit service and special event service for select trips.
