Did you know, biking doesn’t have to end when autumn does? The Minnesota Riverfront Park is home to the trailhead of the Black Dog segment of the Minnesota River Greenway Trail. This 3.75-mile segment of paved trail stretches along the river, through the Xcel Energy Black Dog power plant property, to Minnesota Highway 77/Cedar Avenue. It is ideal for walking or biking, and includes an observation deck and wildlife viewing areas on the Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge. So grab your fat bike and hit the snowy pavement for a beautiful winter ride.
Buck Hill Ski & Snowboard Area truly has winter fun for the whole family, offering 16 different runs, including a half-pipe and railyard, to skiers and snowboarders of all abilities, as well as snow tubing. They have 10 lifts and one of the best snow-making systems in the Midwest. Plus, they offer ski and snowboard rentals as well as group and private lessons for people of all ages and abilities!
