About Us

Burnsville lies on a bluff overlooking the south bank of the Minnesota River upstream from its confluence with the Mississippi River. Established in 1858 and incorporated in 1964, Burnsville is now the ninth largest suburb in the metro area with easy access to Minneapolis and Saint Paul.

Burnsville is home to a section of Murphy-Hanrehan Park Reserve, Buck Hill, part of the Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge and the Ames Center (performing arts center). In addition, Burnsville’s downtown area is called Heart of the City with urban-style retail and condominiums. Plus, Burnsville Transit Station serves as the hub and headquarters of the Minnesota Valley Transit Authority.

Burnsville is a community where visitors feel safe, welcome to be themselves and find a place they want to return to again and again.

Stay in Burnsville, you belong here!

Meet Experience Burnsville’s Executive Director

Photo of Experience Burnsville Director Amie Burrill

Vast and varied work experiences in both the private and public sectors led Amie to her position at the Burnsville Convention & Visitors Bureau (BCVB) in 2006. Since that time, she has witnessed many exciting additions to the city. The dynamic civic and cultural growth of Burnsville has benefitted her both professionally and personally. With the unique shops, foodie restaurants, varied entertainment opportunities, and lovely green space that Burnsville has to offer, promoting it as a destination is never difficult.

While Amie thoroughly enjoys her work at Experience Burnsville, she also loves vacationing in tropical locales, enjoys playing a round of golf with friends, and loves hitting the trails on her mountain bike.
