Burnsville has been touted as the ideal destination for cost, convenience, peace of mind, and location, being at the heart of all the Twin Cities happenings without being in the hustle and bustle of the big city.

When planning for fall break start by booking your stay. You can find the best deals on hotels by booking early. The days of finding a stellar deal on last minute bookings are a thing of the past, so book early for the best rates.

We know that hotel rates are not everything, so be sure to check out all of the hotels in Burnsville as you will find a ton of great amenities like: pet-friendly, indoor pool, free breakfast, free parking, free wifi, and much more.

Things to Do And See

Now that you have booked your hotel now it’s time to start planning everything you will do during this long weekend. Below we break down some ideas by age range to help plan the best getaway.

For Young Children

One of the greatest joys is spending time with family which includes our children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews and anyone else you call family. For those of us planning a getaway with young children here are some of our favorite attractions:

Grand Slam Sports

Enjoy 30,000 square feet of activities, games, rides and sporting activities, including laser light tag, 18 holes of pirate themed mini-golf, extreme trampoline, video games, batting cages, bumper cars & more! It’s an indoor amusement center for the whole family!

ProKart Indoor Racing

ProKart Indoor Racing

Get ready to fulfill your need for speed as you reach speeds approaching 40MPH around an indoor road course style racetrack featuring long straightaways and hairpin turns. Minimum age for driving is 13. Ages 8-12 must complete a Kid’s Driving School which can be  scheduled by calling the track.

SkaterApolis Skate Park

Get ready to skate, scooter, rollerblade and more. The best part is that this is all indoors allowing you to escape the weather outside. If you do have a little skater in your life be sure you stop by the locally owned, Zombie Boardshop for some new gear.

Planning a Winter Staycation in Burnsville, MN

Life is more fun on wheels! Lace up your skates and get ready to show your kids how it’s done as you feel the nostalgia of cruising the rink on four wheels. In addition to skating you will also find an arcade for even more fun!

Cliff Fen Park

This 40-acre park is located on the north side of Cliff Road, just east of the Nicollet Avenue intersection. The park is home to the new Burnsville Lions Playground and a splash pad (during the summer months).

For Adults

Kids all grown up or just taking advantage of the long weekend to catch up with friends? No problem, we have got you covered. Check out our favorite attractions for adults:

Burnsville’s premium real life escape game experience! Located at the Burnsville Center, players will be challenged in this attraction by working together to find clues, solve puzzles, and pick locks that will free them from their private game.

Cheers Pablo

Art and wine, is there any better combination? Tap into your inner Picasso while you enjoy a glass of vino. No experience needed, just come ready to have lots of fun.
